Last weekend me and my friend went to Naga, Camarines Sur to celebrate the 300 years of devotion to our Lady of Penfrancia.This is one week celebration, happens every month of September. The traslacion traditionally marks the start of the Peñafrancia novenary, about three million devotees, pilgrims and tourists converged on the main streets of this city to celebrate 300 years of devotion to the Our Lady of Peñafrancia The festival includes parades, sports competitions, agro-industrial fairs, cultural shows and the felicitation of Miss Bicolandia beauties. We watched the Penafrancia Fluvial Festiva which is attended by millions of Bicolanos, who come there even from abroad. Penafrancia Fluvial Festival in Philippines is preceded by nine days of prayer in honor of the Virgin.
Tribute and thanks are paid to the Virgin of Peñafrancia, the image of the Virgin is brought from its shrine to the Naga Cathedral and is restored back by the end of the rituals to her actual shrine at the Basilica Actually, completing the fluvial procession
A procession is carried out in the evening in which devotees bring the images of the Virgin of Peñafrancia and the Divino Rostro in pagodas on boats across Bicol River. When the image reaches Naga Cathedral, Viva la Virgen is shouted by pilgrims. It reflects the local faith and ritualistic specialty of the region. Penafrancia Fluvial Festival is celebrated in Naga City, Bicol region of Philippines. Observed on the third Saturday of September, Virgin of Peñafrancia, a legendary patroness of the Bicol Region is paid tribute to.
The night was so lively and all bars are loaded of so many people from different places. My outfit for our bar hopping: a lace black top from Zara, polka dots shorts and black wedges both from Forever 21. We rock and partying "til morning meeting with my old and new friends. Had a great, fun, and fulfilling weekend.
